Robert Rhoads
Robert Rhoads
7/15/1955 - 10/27/2025
Robert (Bob Boobala) Rhoads: a pioneer Sea Urchin and Sea Cucumber Diver.
Dad, Uncle Boobala, Uncle, Bob, Robert Lee Rhoads III, just a few of the names you went by. I know you are at peace in heaven, you taught me about faith and seeing the best in people even when they couldn’t see it in themselves. You had an open door policy in our home growing up making sure everyone felt welcome and safe in our home, it was the gathering post for a lot of us beach kids. They say the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree and I couldn’t agree more, you taught me about the ocean, surfing big waves, diving, building boats, and surrounded me by so many amazing mentors who helped lead me to where I am today. The thing you truly did best was love people, if you ever got a hug from my dad you knew that! When people met you they didn’t forget you, your presence and love had a big impact on everyone. The last few years of your life were a bit rough but Chelsea and I will never choose to remember you that way, we will remember the fun, loving, energetic, goofy dad you were, and will remind our kids of the genuinely good man you were. Our dad was a true man of the sea, he passed away on his boat in a peaceful position sitting upright of natural causes, he is surfing perfect 6-8’ waves in heaven that was always how he imagined it. I promise to set your ashes free in to the ocean where you belong, between Oxnard and Hawaii like I always promised you. The ocean will always be the place I visit you which means I will be with you a lot. Chelsea and I love you so much dad we are so blessed for the time with you on this earth, Rest In Peace Papa 07/15/1955 - 10/27/2025. Aloha Óe A Hui Hou
